Thanked: 0Newb from Texas
Hey All,
Obviously I'm new here. I've wanted to get a straight razor now for a while and finally broke down and broke the bank today. I've been reading the beginners area of this site for a while now. I started wet shaving about six months ago and using a DE Safety Razor. I ordered the Dovo Best Quality Black 5/8" Straight Razor & Strop Set for SRD and can't wait to get it in and start learning.

Welcome from a couple of hours south of you! Nice choice for your first straight, I went with a Dovo also and it is a great starter blade. The strops from SRD are nice, but I would recommend watching videos and maybe practicing on a cheaper strop to avoid slicing your nice strop up as you learn!

Nice first choice for a razor and I'm glad to hear that you did your research ahead of time.

Welcome to the forum. You made a smart choice on your first straight. Lynn, also part owner of SRD personally hones & strops each one that goes out & you also get a free honing for when it needs it again. If you have any questions just ask me in a pm or ask on he forum. There are many knowledgable members here!
Good luck!
