New to it all
Well I don't own a straight razor yet but I'm really interested in them. I just found this forum and thought it would be cool to join in on the fun.
So far I've only have been de shaving for about two months but I'm one of those that wants to try everything at least once. So the only thing that keeps me from blowing all my money on shaving stuff is my lovely wife and daughter.
I'm enlisted in the US Navy as a crypto tech and for the past few months (and quite few more to come) I've been hanging out in Virginia Beach.

welcome to the forum. you are in a nice position of having joined prior to making rash purchases!! Well done for managing to do it this way round - not many people do, and you will get more out of your initial set up this way

Welcome to SRP. You should find all you need in the Library like BobH mentioned. You might want to check out the Beginners Guide which is first in there I believe or close to the start of it all & go from there. There is a lot of knowledge here along with many knowledgable members so if you have any questions, just ask.
Good luck my friend & thank you for serving our country.

Thank you all for a warm welcome. I will definitely read through the library.
I should have also mentioned that originally I'm from Poland and I remember reading somewhere that there were polish made straights that were popular at one point. If you guys can some some light on that it would be great. I think it would be awesome to start my adventure into straights with one that was made in the same country I was.

Sounds like you and heerlau would get on together well, I think he is a retired navy crypto tech and is in Florida somewhere (in my head all of that is correct but I have been proven wrong before)
Welcome to the forum, I would suggest reading through the library and beginners forum and ask as many questions as you like.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast
