It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Thanked: 4826Welcome to the forum. There are a lot of Canadians, I think a few from Manitoba. There is a ton of information here and lots of friendly and knowledgable people. There is a little bit to learn. An important starting point is that you begging with a hand sharpened, shave ready edge. Where did you get your stuff from?

Thanked: 1Well my first razor I got years ago. It was an old one a friend scored used and sold to me after he had it honed. Then I had no patience for straight shaving but have since decided to try again. I dug my razor out of my drawer only to find it had not fared storage well. I decided to order a dovo 6/8 bismark from classsic edge till I could try to restore my old one and use as a spare. I think Phil over at classic edge does a good job sharpening them, or so others have said.

Hello Mistro and welcome to SRP 'eh.
It would appear that you are well on your way and heading in the right direction.
Dovo 6/8 bismark is a wise choice and coming from Phil you can be assured that it will be shave ready.
I wouldn't strop it right away as you probably are well aware of the risk of rounding the edge.
There are a lot of aspects to master but in the end it is all very worthwhile.
Enjoy the journey.S.L.A.M.,.......SHAVE LIKE A MAN!!!
