    Gentlemen,

Thank you for all of your advice and support while taking on my new love of straight razor shaving. This Forum is full of great advice that has already proved beneficial to my experiences and in the last week or so of being on the forum. I have seen a lot of awesome work in the forge, advised expertly in many of the other topics (Correct pressure and angle of the blade changes after reading the forums took my last shave from what I expected to unbelievably more than what I expected). I shaved yesterday afternoon and still have a "baby butt smooth" face. It's unbelievable!!! I am hoping to get my wife in on the game so she doesn't need me to explain why I come home with a new soap every time I do, or why I want more than one straight razor, and of course it makes gifting a whole lot easier for her in the future 😉!!! I have two sons and a daughter and at the very least I am hoping to teach them the skill and a level of respect for what goes into shaving with suck an incredible instrument. It truly is an art and worth every bit of effort put into it.

As far as my razors, I know it is a concern, the Dovo was purchased as part of a razor and strop kit from SRD. I am sure many will cringe when they read that my first strop isn't cheap. But stay with me... My Top Flight has been honed and stropped by Jon, the owner of the shop I purchased it from. He is an avid straight razor guy and although he doesn't specifically make his money honing and prepping razors, he has plenty of experience. Heck, he may be on this forum and I don't even know about it. My third razor is on the way from Larry at Whipped Dog. Another site that appears on these forum pages. Larry offers his "site unseen" razors and has a pretty sweet trade in option for sending your razor in. For those who haven't looked into it, You send him your razor, and for the price of honing, he sends you a different shave ready razor. I took the gamble of adding into the notes section what kind of scales I was interested in (translucent) and he quickly replied and is making it happen.

The future is looking at trying out a Brandonisio & Bros. UNO blade from therestoredrazor.com but I can't tell you how soon.

All in all, I can say this "family" has already been a huge help. And I can't wait to post my "Shave of the Day", and I am sure eventually, "Nick of the Day."

    So again, Thank You all!!

    Joe
