    Welcome to SRP!
I started with a shavette and I like to think it helped me. I still use it every few weeks. The first shave was still a bit nerve racking. Just go slow and start with one cheek.

Welcome, I wish I could offer advice with a Shavette, but I have never used one myself. There's plenty of info here, just have to browse around. Good luck!
