    Hi, Roy!

Thanks for broadening the search! I didn't think to look outside the US. I just emailed someone on this listserv who posted something about a Faris & Sargus razor in 2010. Hopefully they are still active!

    Cheers,

    Jane

I found a Faris & Sargus recently at a flea market. It has an engraved blade. The engraving is an alligator chasing a man and it say "the race" right above the alligator and man. Name: IMG_1547.jpg

Hi! Thanks for posting this. There have been a few of these blades for sale over the years, but none since I have tried to find one. The only thing I know for sure about them is that even though they may say "made In Germany" they were often made down the street :/. What do think of the condition? Is this one for sale?

Well I'm just 16 and I am really into antiques. I wanted to learn to use a straight razor and I found quite a few at the flea market so I bought this one as it was most unique. The metal is pretty tarnished but makes the blade almost pretty if you ask me. There is no rust on the blade itself but there is a little bit farther up. As I don't know much about antique razors since this is my first one it may or may not be for sale. Right now I'm mainly looking for infromation about the blade itself. I love unique things and have quite a collection of other stuff. This is my only razor though and seems to be quite rare. Although if you have more appreciation for it and give me a good price I could sell it

I have a personal interest in this razor not razors in general. My great uncle sold it in his shop, so can you tell me how much you would like for it? When I look on eBay, prices for old razors seem to run all other the place. So, $40?

I should clarify that I only looked at sold listings on eBay. Anyway, are you willing to sell it? If so, what would like to get for it? Because of the personal connection, I would to pay a good price. Thanks for considering!

Would be great to see mejane get this razor since she has a personal connection to it.
nowabo3, the best way to learn to shave with a straight is to pick up one here from the classifieds which is truly shave ready.
There are quite often razors for sale around the $40 to $50 price range that would be perfect for you to learn, and all the help here you could ever need.

Grazor, I'm gonna be honest the main reason I'm considering selling it is that mejane has a personal connection to it. I just really like it haha. I believe that at some point mejane will own it.

mejane, could i have a day or two to think about it. I really like the blade but i think I can probably sell it to you and i definitely want you to have it for your grandpa.

I can send more pictures if you would like. I believe it is late 1890's but I don't know much about straight razors
