Thread: Hello from California

Hi,
I am a wet shaver that is starting to get interested in straight razor shaving. I am shaving this month with a Feather AC SS with a Feather Professional blade. After a couple of rough days in the start, I am actually getting decent two pass shaves without injury. I am very active on another wet shaving site that focuses on safety razors and decided to start hanging out here as well to see what I can learn.

welcome mrchick. I'm a newbie as well. Still searching for my first SR. How did you settle on yours? How long is the blade on that SS? What replacement blades are you using?

I chose this razor because I understood that it is the closest to a straight in how it's used. It gives me an opportunity to experiment without buying hones and a strop. I am using the Professional blades which are about two inches long.

I didn't know about the feather SS. This looks like a great way to get started in wet shaving. No strop, and sharp blades at a low cost. I like it! might pick one up.
