I guess I'm new to the forum but I'm certainly not new to straight razor shaving. I'm 59 years old and have been shaving with a straight since I was 14 with my Grampa's Army Navy 6/8. I still use that old razor and over the years have included a Wade and Butcher 5/8, a Henry Sears 3/8, a Shumate 4/8, a no brand 7/8, and an L.A. Razor Co. shavette type razor. The Army Navy is still my favorite and it gave me another excellent 3 pass shave this morning. I mostly hone with a coticule. I strop on a Russian horsehide and finish up on an Illinois strop. The only accident I ever suffered straight shaving is when a hayfever sneeze caught me mid stroke on the chin. So there you have it........an old time straight shaver.
