Thanked: 634Personally I would go with straight razor designs. It will be shave ready and probably cheaper than the art of Shaving who are charging for their name. What part of Florida are you in? I am in Pompano Beach.
Merry Christmas and thank you for serving in the military. Stay safe and return soon.

Welcome to SRP!
I'd go with the Dovo from SRD if SRD doesn't have the TI in stock that you want.
The AOS razor will still need to be honed after purchase so you are looking at an additional $30 or so on top of the razor.
And don't forget to get a strop too.

Thanked: 351Straight Razor Designs for the win! You cannot go wrong purchasing from them. Your razor will come fully hand honed and ready to go and I believe it even includes a coupon for one re-hone down the road. They carry several manufacturers including Ti, Dovo and Ralf Aust. They are all good razors and SRD strops are great as well...

Hi and welcome. A good purchase that can last a lifetime. Read up on stropping and edge maintenance(maintenance not honing) as these can see you shaving for a good while self sufficiently.

Merry Christmas, Welcome to SRP and thank you for your service.
You have come to the right place as all the info re straight razor shaving is here and plenty of help to answer any questions you may have.
You made a good choice of razor and strop.
Only piece of advise,

Take your disposable blade with you, good chance you dull your razor thru improper technique or stropping that way you got a back up. Tc

Thanked: 0So I just got in my Dovo in only 3 days!! I didn't think i'd be this excited to go shave haha.
Just one question: Raol said not to strop before shaving. but is there a certain amount time time/shaves you should wait before stropping after having the blade honed?
Here's a picture of it fresh out of the box.

Thanked: 580Just wipe the oil off the blade before the shave. A good idea I got from here is to practice stropping with a blunt butter knife before attempting it with razor, watch a few vids and take your time.
