    Welcome to the forum.

    The only advice I would give is on the shave. Don't expect great results off the bat. When the results aren't what you hoped for don't give up, it will get better.

    Don't use any pressure when shaving. It seems counter intuitive to what we know about cutting, but more pressure = an uncomfortable (likely including blood) shave and one that is not close either.

    Take your time and enjoy, head over to the beginners section and read as much as you can and also you will need a strop, maybe start with a paddle strop, the technique will be different to what you know about sharpening knives but your experience will still serve you well.

    Hi and welcome. +1 to the above and is also a good idea to get your first razor pro honed so you know what a shave ready razor feels like a have a benchmark to aim for. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask
