    Default Hello from Denver

My name is Dennis and I am new to SR this year. I'm an older gen but SR is on my bucket list. I have been using a Parker Shavette, ~15 shaves, and so far so good. I just shave about 50% of my face, and finish with a safety razor. Slowly progressing. Willing to accept any suggestions. Are there any meeting in the Denver area? Thanks.

Welcome dleonetti. I'm thinking of setting up a Denver meet in January. We have had several. Keep an eye out here; Get Togethers and Meetings

I too am new to straights and from Colorado Springs. I would love to meet up with a few folks to learn more about what I am going to venture into. I recently bought 5 straights from a local guy. He provided some info about honing, but I feel I have way too much to learn about stones and methods. I found a lot of good info here so far. Before I invest in honing equipment I want to hear stories about if you only knew then what you know now, how would things be different. Also looking for Colorado based professional honing. I know Gssixgun used to live in Colorado and if there are no locals I will likely ship to him, but that doesn't help me learn the craft.

I would be up for a short road trip if needed. As the skill progresses, awe all need to know a little about honing.

I am glad your mom is still in the Mile High city and in the off chance you will celebrate earlier or later I will block off every Sunday in July... but I think it will be the 16th as the 17th is a Monday.

I hope to know a few tricks by then as I learned there are a few folks here in the Springs that straight razor shave. They happen to work n the same building I work in...bonus

Welcome to SRP Dennis. A meet is a great thing when you are starting out. I've been to the last two in Denver and they have been a huge help on this journey. I would definitely be up for one in January, Vic. Let me know if I can help you out with setting it up.
