I think a bit therapeutic, at times! Well-said, Rez.

Well I certainly forgot how active this place is. Taking my time getting used to where everything is here. I may have a Hart in the classifieds later this week. Got to pull it out & make sure it's still in good shape.

You guys already have me wanting to lather up & go for it, but I promised myself I'd get back in it with everything freshly honed. I don't remember which of my razors are still good but I know at least 2 or 3 were ready for some touchup work. Doesn't help things that they're all nearly identical...

Hi and welcome back. Sounds like you have the time to go the full hog with your shaves and pamper your self a bit. Should make the mornings enjoyable for you. Good luck getting your shave on.

Hi guys. I know this isn't really shaving related, well it is indirectly but we'll get to that. Just had some really good news that I'm excited about & had to tell someone about it.

Ever since the amputation I've been suffering from constant phantom pain. It's so bad sometimes I can only lie in bed in tears. When I'm walking with my prosthetic leg every step feels like somebody just hit me in the leg & ankle with a baseball bat. Well a few weeks ago I talked my orthopedic surgeon into doing an MRI of my stump, because I was convinced I had a neuroma. Turns out I really do have one, and he said it was lighting up my whole sciatic nerve. That nothing new for me, but it confirmed what I've been telling my doctors for about a year.

Anyways, they have me scheduled for surgery next Wednesday. They're going to remove the neuroma, which is like a big, swollen, tangled mess of nerve fibers that's constantly stimulating itself. While they're in there, they're also going to fix some places where the scar has adhered to the end of my femur, and cut out some of the scar tissue so the whole thing can heal more smoothly. On top of all that, since this technically counts as a stump revision, my prosthetist said she'll have no trouble getting my insurance to approve a new socket. My stump has shrunk a lot since it was made so it's getting pretty loose and difficult to keep on or walk in. And the best part, during the surgery they're doing a spinal so I'll be completely numb below the waist. For the first time in over a year I'll be completely pain free. Can't wait
