Welcome Steve. Lathering half your face is a great way to start. Making lather takes some time but you will have it in no time. Practice making lather or test lather is good as well. Snoop around and be sure to check out the library.

Welcome. I'm close to a month of straight shaving and I still 1/4 lather my face. I'm much quicker than when I first started, but I don't like to rush and it really doesn't take much time to lather. I do half my face then the other, then half my neck, and then the other.
