Thanked: 0Thanks for the replies. I have been working 13 hours a day and today is my first day off in 16 days and I haven't had much time choose a razor and strop. I have a couple hours to look so I guess I'll be studying the forum.
Thanks again

Welcome and congratulations and embarking on a wonderful journey.
Check out the "Library" in the top tool bar. If you have a question ask the forum. These guys are great about offering their advice and explaining it well.
One of the problems from some companies that sell SR is they advertise "shave ready", BUT they also use that term very loosely. I'd say the package from SRD's biggest bonus is the honing. It will come truly "shave ready" and then what is a HUGE advantage for the newbie is an additional honing. There's a good chance that you'll degrade the edge pretty quick from your stropping, thus requiring a touch up pretty quickly.
You can always look for a vintage razor in the "Buy/Sell/Trade" section (might even find a strop there although not sure if any are currently listed). There's always a chance the member selling in the classified would offer you a second honing. Not trying to put anyone on the spot...I've just found this forum is full of good natured people that get excited when someone new shows up, and are very generous with help and wisdom.
Other than that listen to the previous posts and shave the lather (love that advice from another member).
JerKeep it safe and Cheers,
Jer

Thanked: 15Welcome to SRP. Lynn's YouTube video are excellent. Not only did I get lots of tips on how to shave but also how to maintain the razors.
