Thanked: 0Newcomer
Hello to everyone interested. I have been wanting a straight razor ever since the first time that I have shaved. Lately the passion to obtain one has been greater than ever. I recently ran across this site, but I haven't had much time to look around. I will be ordering my first straight razor as soon as I find one that I feel confident with. Not quite sure where to begin, but it is nice to know that there are people on here to help with any questions.

Welcome to the forum.
If you are looking for somewhere to begin, check out the library and beginners section watch videos on YouTube. When it comes to buying a straight razor the most important thing is to make sure you buy one that is shave ready.

Thanked: 1ok, here you go: do you need to use bushings for the pivot hole in a blade to size down to the pin size? If so what is used?

Thanked: 0Thank you for all the warm welcomes thus far. Last night I spent hours scouring the forums and other sites for as much information as I could retain when it comes to straight razors. I continued it once again this morning. So far I have been able to order myself a Filly Strop, for now, a Pure Badger Brush with a stand, shaving soap, and well on my way finding a razor. The more I learn, the more intrigued I become. If I have any concerns, comments, or questions I will be sure to say so! The shopping list for beginners is an amazing place to start!
