    Glad you are back.

Looking back on learning to use a straight, the two things that caused me the most trouble pressing too hard and trying to shqve too closely.

Learning to shave with a straight razor takes time. Paticence and persistence. I'm coming on my two year mark and only recently feel truly comfortable with a straight. I'm still learning, practicing moves, angles, strokes, varying pressure at certain points. Razor, edge, brush, lather, moisture, skill, technique eventually all come together to deliver the smoothest shave you've ever had. And you get to do it all again tomorrow.

A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.

Take it slow and watch your angle of attack. I put a nice little slice by my side burn last night. I was using a 14 hollow filly for the second shave and got the spine up a bit to much. It happens every once in a while. welcome back and good luck.
