Default Back to figure this out!

I haven't been on SRP in so long I figure a re-introduction is in order. I'm a very longtime DE shaver/collector, and I've accumulated a fair number of straights along the way, always intending to someday learn how to properly use them. So now I've got a nice old (but newly honed) Frederick Reynolds 6/8 and a beginner's strop and I'm here to once and for all figure this thing out. Looking forward to climbing the steep slope of this learning curve.

    Welcome back.
So...is it shave ready, are you capable of stropping and keeping it keen, your lather is good. Make a pass down your cheek....."WATCH YOUR EAR"!!![emoji56]

Good luck, keep us up on how things go, and let us know about the tough spots, we'll help as much as possible.

Thanks! Yes, it is shave-ready -- professionally honed. Stropping, well, I'm learning! And the lather, now that I've got.

    Cheers!

    Thanks!

Gave it an inaugural run last night. Not bad at all! Just took some tinkering to get the angle. But I'll not be venturing into trouble spots just yet.

Welcome back. You are well ahead already having lathering and beard mapping sorted. You will pick up the angles quick enough and stropping just takes practice. Good luck
