    Thanks Mike,

I did a lots of research before I did my first shave and it cut like a hot knife though butter. Anyway started with the flat parts of the face only, getting the feel for the right blade angle and grip, I did finish the shave off with a safety razor (Merkur futur), no cuts. :-) Did try with DOVO's shavette, got my first cut, primarily due to distraction. :-)

Thanks for the tip, not to strop a shave ready razor.

I've turned my straight razor shaving to a Sunday Evening routine, getting ready for the week, I'm having a hard time during the weekday with shaving, due to my extensive air travel and carry onboard luggage only, don't want TSA to take my knife. :-(

Well, I did try to shave only the flat side of my face but I was impatient. Luckily I did not cut my face off. I took a Safety razor on carry-on and TSA did take out my razor and check that it did not have a blade in it. They are a loony bunch with loony rules. Pretty soon you'll have a hundred shaves in and wonder why you thought it was so hard. Good luck and safe travels.

    Mike

    Salut Pierrer and Bienvenue.
You said it came shave-ready, but factory shave ready or honed by a good guy ?

Enjoy the experience, but be careful. It is known to be addictive......

I know it's addictive, I have since bought a lots of stuff and I'm actually looking forward to each shave. :-)

Unfortunately I do a lots of travel, unable to bring what I need, so I have found a local Barber where I'm at this week and they do hot shaves, taking my three consultants out for a "Project Completion" shave tomorrow and I will write about the place and post a few pictures, including with address, if anyone ever needs a straight razor shave, in Medellin, Colombia.
