Anyway started with the flat parts of the face only, getting the feel for the right blade angle and grip, I did finish the shave off with a safety razor (Merkur futur), no cuts. :-) Did try with DOVO's shavette, got my first cut, primarily due to distraction. :-)

I've turned my straight razor shaving to a Sunday Evening routine, getting ready for the week, I'm having a hard time during the weekday with shaving, due to my extensive air travel and carry onboard luggage only, don't want TSA to take my knife. :-(

Well, I did try to shave only the flat side of my face but I was impatient. Luckily I did not cut my face off. I took a Safety razor on carry-on and TSA did take out my razor and check that it did not have a blade in it. They are a loony bunch with loony rules. Pretty soon you'll have a hundred shaves in and wonder why you thought it was so hard. Good luck and safe travels.
