Thanks all for the welcome. This arrived today from Classic Edge:
Very excited but a little apprehensive - I'll watch a few more videos before I do my first shave.

Very nice indeed.
If it's from Classic Edge I would shave with it and not strop it before the first shave. That way you will know what a good edge feels like and you will have a bench mark to see if your stropping spoils the edge.
Don't worry too much about that first shave. Just remember go slow and don't use any pressure. look at Lynn's video where he suggests just doing the cheeks first. Get used to the feel of the razor and then move on to the trickier parts after a few days of just doing the cheeks. You will be a seasoned pro before you know it.
Enjoy.Fact: Opinions are not the same as facts... Well, that's my opinion anyway

Thanks for the tips - I've heard good things about the edge he puts on so the plan is to shave before I strop - I need to ensure I do that proper anyway. I'm going to go slow for sure - no rush and I'll finish my shave with a DE.

Welcome to the forum, Gary. Plenty of fun to be had in the rabbit hole. Hope you have a great time learning to shave with a straight razor!
