    Hello all,

Been shaving with a straight for the first time this week. Shaved my whole face 5 times this week so far with a straight and I'm loving it! No nicks so far. Takes 20 minutes for a 1 pass shave though.

Job requires me to be clean shaven so it is nice to not get ingrowns/enjoy shaving.

    Nice to meet you all.

    Welcome aboard.!
That's why I started using a straight, no more ingrowns, and that pizza face, look.
It only gets better with every shave, my man. The shakes will go away, and the "ZEN" will eventually take its place.

Welcome Enginemonkey. Glad to have ya. I too am from CO and there is about 8 other members from CO. If you dont mind, what city are you in? Im in Colorado Springs. In the Denver area we have a grand Mentor if your in need of any help. And if your close to me id be willing to help if you feel the need.

Post up what you have for razors and e joy the ride. S.R. shaving was the first way and the most enjoyable. Be sure to read the info in the library as it can help a newbie to this type of fun.

Speed comes with time, I still take my time 2 years into this only because I truly want to enjoy each shave. Ingrown hairs and hating cartridge razors got me into straight shaving. It's awesome, and with time it becomes even better.
Glad you are enjoying yourself that's what this is about! Ask anything you need, we all try and give/share the best advice we can. Good luck and remember, shave the lather.

    Hello and welcome to SRP.
Shave slow and steady while starting out. Most importantly, stay in your comfort zone.
Enjoy your time here on the forum and have fun.

The shakes aren't so bad. But the pesky chin comes out patchy thats for sure.

Appreciate it, i'll keep it in mind if I get any issues. The razor i'm currently using is a 5/8 square point sight unseen that says sheffield on the tang.

Got a Ralf Aust 6/8 round point palisander on the way from SRD. Hoping I like the wood on it. Sure wouldn't mind a cocobola one in the future. It would go well with some of my duck calls.

    And i'm in Eagle county.

Welcome to SRP. Like Jerry said, we have a great group of enthusiasts in Colorado. We get together a couple of times a year on a Saturday to hone razors, learn and just talk. Keep a lookout for the next one.
