    Hello,
In light of my questions on the above posts I found a straight razor here in the classifieds. Please look at the one with the title below and tell me if this would be a good razor to start with.
    Thanks.

That is a nice razor. And yes you could start with that. But it is a bit big to learn on. Not that you cant learn with it but 5/8 is more the right size for a beginner.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

    Thanks for all the responses.
What do you think of the razor in the link below as a starter?

Also a nice razor. 5/8 round point 8s also good for starting. But i think your spending a lot of money on a razor when you dont even know if straight razors are for you. In my opinion you would be better off buying used and honed by hand from b/s/t . Just keep watching it as you can get one for around 30bucks shipped at times.
Slow downand just wait for one.
BTW, did you read the info in the library about newbies buying razors and learn8ng to shave?

BTW, did you check your pm's? Sounded like dieseld was giving you a hint.

I actually found bigger razors easier to shave with when I was a beginner. Plus they are easier to strop as the wider surface is more stable on the strop. 13/16 is a good size to start with IMO.

    Hi Dieselt,
I read your PM and tried to respond but it didn't work meaning it didn't send. Please explain how to reply to a PM.

I started with a 5/8 but Vic, you've been around longer than me.
