    Can't add much to what's been said already.
    But the library is an awesome resource to use here

    Enjoy and have fun!!!

    Default You are ready to go.

    @zrmcdaniel,

    That's a nice razor you bought. It had a few small chips in the blade, that I've gotten out. I also just slightly rounded that spike tip - it looked dangerous. Shaved with it this morning and had a smooth shave. I'll get it in the mail today.

    I recommend that you not strop it until after your first shave -- it is already stropped.

    With this and the new/NOS that you are going to get, you can learn to hone with just a finishing stone, until you feel like working on dull razors.

    Enjoy.

    Welcome to the forum. Although straight razors are the prime topic of the forum, members are a rather interesting group with varied interests including cooking, pipes and cigars, alcoholic beverages, firearms, fountain pens, books, music, pets, etc. No matter what you passion, you are sure to find someone else who shares that same interest.

    Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, and a big thanks to Mr. Houston for sharpening my razor.
