Welcome, Joe.
We've heard good things about ya, at least that's what Roy says, but we were all your age once...and I'm not seeing a halo anywhere..!!
But Roy is getting you straightened out, I see.
Wished I had someone to learn from when I started years ago. Had a rough start, and plenty of bad shaves till I found this forum, and the helpful folks within.
So enjoy, glad your hear your with our family of fine gentlemen.Mike

Welcome Joe!
I too was coached by Roy. No hands on training and he kept telling me to slow down. I just couldnt learn slow so i went about it at my balls to the wall speed. I figured it out but it took me longer. Your in good hands. Remember what he shows and tells ya. The bad apart about learning this way to shave is it can o ly be done once a day. Some guys cant practice even once a day so it takes time.
Glad to have ya in the group. It's just Sharpening, right?

Welcome!
I remember being that excited about shaving with a straight!! And then I started to get cocky and ... there was blood. Blood and flaps. Painful flaps. Mad ears, and a traumatized daughter. I must have started and stopped shaving with my straight I don't know how many times. It wasn't until I vowed that no matter what, every shave for a year would be a straight razor shave, that it all changed for me. After that year was done, the muscle memory was ingrained. I could jump from a straight to a DE without thinking a thing about it.
I learned a heck of a lot that first year. I still do. It's awesome way to shave! Moreover, without exception, wet shaving makes you a better man. A cooler man!! LIVE IT LOL!! Seriously though, Welcome.David

Thanked: 5Cudarunner was very helpful and generous to me , just listen and don't ever think you got it because 10 shaves later you'll think you got it down again then 10 later you'll realize it keeps getting better and so on and so on
