I won't take anything away from great advise given.
Welcome!
My Canuck SRP brothers are the absolute best. A great pile to be in on.
Oh! We all know Connie's name! Are you 'the Hawk'?Last edited by sharptonn; 04-20-2018 at 04:48 AM.

Thanked: 2@sharptonn, thanks for the welcome, I don't think you have the right Connie, my wife retained her mating* name (Ricky-ism, for maiden*, Ricky from Trailer Park Boys). I've been using 'redtailedhawk' online and in various forums for years, the Red Tailed Hawk became my favourite bird from many years of having close and frequent encounters with them, I even had Robert Bateman's painting of one tattooed on my right upper arm.

Well if it was surface rust them some steel wool and metal polish can clean up that blade. Just remember to be careful of that edge. A dull razor will take a finger tip off before you know it. As far as the scale crack, pics are needed. Celuloid is not fixable very easily. Most of us just replace them. And pinning is not hard to do. Cost is very little for the parts. Or just send it out to one of your northern buddies here on SRP to get fixed up.
If you want to make scales yourself! Read about it in the library. Lots of good info on scale making.
As far as your name, some of us put our name in the signature area. Its in the settings somewhere. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 2284If there's any gold on that blade etch, metal polish will take it clean off. Just be aware of that.
