Thanked: 2Hello from a new member in London ON, Canada
Hello everyone, I'm retired and live in London ON with my wife Connie, I play flat pick guitar a bit of mandolin and uke.
I have been using a old Gillette Fatboy TTO Adjustable DE 195 Razor for several years now but have always wanted to try using a straight razor. I recently bought an old R Boker King Cutter straight razor from a local antique shop but I'm still a ways off from using it as It needs some cleaning up and repair. If anyone has any suggestions where to get the done please let me know, it would be appreciated.

Thanked: 556Welcome from a fellow Ontarian. You will find a lot of information about all aspects of wet shaving and razor maintenance. Check out the library and feel free to ask questions and seek advice. This is a most generous group who really enjoy sharing what they know.

Thanked: 2284Hello there! I'm not far from you, and we have some others that are close to you as well. Would love to see a pic of the Boker you have. I have many and they're definitely one of my favourite German brands. Quite common to find them in this area too. Just a heads up, the Kintore antique store seems to always have straights and DE razors for sale at a good price. Make sure you take cash with you though. They don't take plastic. I've scored many of both from there.

Thanked: 2284It looks nice. Is there rust one the edge??? Rust on the edge can be bad. The blade is so thin, and the rust will pit that thin blade making it very hard to establish a perfect bevel.

Thanked: 2@HARRYWALLY
t looks like it's just dirt, but could be a little pitting, it's in the condition I got it in, I don't want to do anything to it until I know what I'm doing, lol
