What about stropping on a beaver tail?

Last time in Canada, I ate a beaver til with mapple syrup in Banff AB

Welcome. You will enjoy SR shaving. It’s not Rocket Science. Just remember to keep the blade at a 30 degree angle do not apply pressure, stretch your skin and do short 1 inch or less strokes. Let the razor do the work. At ANYTIME WHEN when you begin your shave if it pulls STOP AND DO NOT CONTINUE. Do more laps on a hard felt or fabric weave strop with either Cromium Oxide or .5 Diamond spray the 50 strokes on the leather. Re-lather and try again. If it still pulls the razor needs to be tuned up and refreshed on a hone. I rotate at least 7 razors so I can go months and months without honing. Enjoy!!!

    Legman,

I have remarked to several people (usually they have a confused look on their face LOL) how "shaving hasn't been this fun since I was 5 years old and pretending to shave." I really do enjoy it I assume since it's a challenge to do correctly and involves some risk.

I need to order some chromium oxide......thee was a "crayon" of the stuff this one company had but has since dropped. Is that available elsewhere?

Anyway, a new friend on here has offered to do me a first honing for no charge other than shipping and I have agreed to take him up on that. Thanks for the advice on when she begins "to pull."

7 razors? Now that is an idea! I might do the same....I'd want one just like I have already so I wouldn't have to change shaving style.

Naw. You take a badger brush and lather up the beaver tail. You then slap that lathered tail against your face. It works well for opening pores.
