Thanked: 636Welcome Mark.
When you start to restore you don't necessarily have to make them look brand new. Many of the Razors I do are over 100 years old. I do all work by hand. You will find some pitting is just too deep to get out completely. I recommend starting with the heavy blades like a near wedge. They are more forgiving to over sanding. Do not use a Dremel or you will find you have ruined a blade in the blink of an eye.
Be sure to post before and after photos.

Hello, Mark, you've chosen the one and only dedicated straight razor forum with more info than you can shake a stick at.

Thanked: 2Hello,
I already started one, which prompted me to register on the forum as I needed some help. Turns out it's a microtome as I was having problems honing it. I've since done some more research, and will need to polish out my scratches and start again! Looking forward to learning as much as I can.
