    Welcome, Ray. I never used a shavette, but use Feather blades in my DE, and while they are sharp, they aren't smooth. The combination of smoothness and sharpness is something well honed straight razors do offer! Enjoy!

    Welcome, Ray! Good advise given. Shavettes are scary to me. A good straight with a sharp, smooth edge is my preference.
    Lots of info here from members and particularly all the old threads which can be found by typing in a subject in the search box at top-right. Dig in and visit all our sub forums!
