Hello everybody. I have been wet shaving for a long time and decided to try to master shaving with a straight. There is a lot of good advice on this forum and it has helped me a great deal. I have less than 10 shaves on straights and about the same on a Feather shavette. It seems that the straight is kinder to my face than the Feather. I am now trying to learn how to hone. I’m glad that I am retired and can devote the time needed to learn.

Learn to shave and strop before trying anything else. It will make learning much easier.MisterClean and Dieseld like this.It's just Sharpening, right?

As was pointed out learning to Properly Strop, Lather and Shave are what you need to master first. After that there's lots of Rabbit Holes---
