Welcome to the forum. Keeping your angle low and your skin tight, with holding and stretching will help.

Welcome, looks like you have a couple nice razors, buying some quality soaps and a good brush, will make a difference. Check the Soap & Creams forum for Obie’s First Tier Soaps and Creams, I highly recommend Martin de Candre soap & Castle Forbes cream, they are pricy but worth every penny. A tub of MDC will easily las a year or more.

Stropping is key in shaving maintenance, pick up a decent strop, does not need to be expensive, you will likely nick it and practice stropping, go slow, watch your pressure and stop before you flip. It can take up to a year to perfect stropping to the point where you are improving the edge consistently.

I’ve definitely cobbled myself up a couple times, always because of bad angles. Stripping was definitely something I was doing wrong at first but a few vids and some practice is helping. For a strop I bought a Naked Armor. For soaps I have Stirling, Czech & Speake and Proraso. Brush is a De VinciName: 876F1A69-7BB0-4913-B45E-5E641B6FE822.jpg

New guys often scrimp on soap, but it is impressive the difference a quality soap can make. It does not have to be expensive, there are a bunch of inexpensive great soaps in the soap forum, but you cant go wrong with any of the top tier soaps.

Looks like you are off to a good start. Quality equipment makes it easier by removing variables. And really when you compare the cost of cartridge razors, buy quality once.

As you progress and experiment you will eventually find components and technique that you can tailor for your skin and beard type.

    Enjoy
