Oh yeah, I meant to mention that I like the look of your new razor. That's a good choice of style to start off with. Not familiar with the maker but it's hard to go wrong with a Sheffield blade.

Hi and welcome,
As a quite new shaver myself all I can say is when you cut your self every time for maybe 3 shaves and you start getting nervous, don’t give up.
I thought hard about going electric but it does get easier quite quickly so grit your teeth and just buy an extra styptic pencil.

Thanks STF. I'm glad you mentioned the styptic pencil - I knew there was one more thing I had to get before I got started!
Thanks for welcomes Rezdog, eddy79, celestino, and JOB15
I believe my razor is due to arrive in 42 minutes.....

Has it arrived?
Exciting eh?
Just my humble opinion but if it’s shave ready you probably want your fist shave to be with a really sharp edge so if were me I would use it before I put it near a strop if you haven’t stropped before.
As a relative newbie, I am speaking from experience, stropping is harder than it looks and can really hurt your edge if you do it wrong.
Luckily there are some really helpful videos on utube and of course lots of useful information in the library here.
Where did you get your razor?
