    Welcome. You're probably within the right range. My (educated) guess would be 1870s maybe 1880s. I would read up on some posts about sanding, polishing, restoring. There is a tremendous amount of information in the "what are you working on," thread found in the "the workshop," forum. Enjoy and take your time. "Luck favors the prepared."

    Heh, well I do now have and tend to predominantly use a synth progression, mostly just to spare my coticules the wear of midrange work, but I do strongly feel that having learned to hone first on a coti still informs the way I use any stone to some degree. Come to think of it, since it's been a little while, I do believe I'll put a coti edge on that Wade tomorrow
