Welcome, from down the street. Lots to learn here if you’re new to it. Any shaving background?

Thanked: 7Just recently started straight razor shaving.
Picked-up a Gold Dollar #208 to learn how to hone and do other things. (Repair stabilizer, check flatness and repair spine, start new bevel, etc...).
Also purchased a Shapton 5k, and a set of Naniwa 8k and 12k stones.
So far my edges are pretty fantastic, and pop hairs pretty nicely.
Then I stepped-up a notch and started shaving with a WH Morley & Sons. (My current straight). Of course Im using the Gold Dollar as well.
Now I’m looking to purchase one more straight razor. A really nice one...if possible.
Got a few shekels saved for a Koraat 14-2.0. But Ulrik wants over $300+ for one, because of the US and Euro exchange rate. (A bit over what I set my max at).
So now I’m looking for a nice Fili 14.
But maybe I’ll just wait for the Euro exchange to get better.
I’m currently on shave #28 with the straight razor.
Never cut myself...except for trying to catch it when it slipped, and got my finger sliced open. (Gotta remember the old saying, “A falling knife has no handle”). And I’m pretty comfortable with ATG chin and under jaw shaving now.
Super clean shaves now-a-days.
Pleased I made the change.Last edited by RaymondMillbrae; 08-24-2020 at 01:37 AM.

Welcome! and nice choice of stones. Plus you have a good eye, hard to go wrong with a
Fili 14 or a Koraat. Good on you if you are getting good shaves, but I can tell you they will get even better!

No problem, I have family in Roseville and Rocklin. Only visit in the winter it's so hot there. They do have giant houses but I hate being inthe house all day. Whats it like these couple days,110°?
