    Default Woody in S. Florida

Hi all. I’m Woody, and I live in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. I’m new to SRP and this forum, but first started shaving with a straight 40 years ago (probably before many members here were born.) I’ve been on and off (mostly off) of straights since then but picked it up again in earnest about eight years ago. I finally realized that I had become complacent on my shaves and had just accepted that the razor is what it is without really knowing what is possible. I found this forum while doing searches for how to maintain and improve the performance of my razor and I was stunned by how much great information and terrific conversation is found here.

Anyway, my razor is now visiting Idaho where it is in the capable hands of a gentleman who is well-known in these parts and who will help me to understand the full potential of the shaver.

    Nice to meet everyone.

Welcome from SE Washington State USA.

If your razor is in the hands of a cantankerous old fart outside of Sandpoint ID it's in very good hands.

Ha! It is, indeed. I guess that "cantankerous old fart" applies to me as well. He and I are of the same vintage.

While I've found through the ages that it's not the age that counts, it's the mileage, you'll find other's older than you here, including razorfeld who I believe is 86, I'll turn 68 in August. I introduced my son to this age old art when he was 17, he'll turn 28 this month.

Welcome Woody. Like you I started with a straight long before it was popular like today. Over 30 years now. And yes I am an old fart also.

Well, is a youth movement in order? I can offer up my 28 year-old son as a test case.

I had a fun conversation with a friend yesterday. His house needed work and was built in 04.

    Mine was built in 09......

    Welcome to the forum.

Age is not an issue here!
