    Default Hi To All

I've been shaving with DE razors for a little over two years (as well as collecting fairly heavily) and I thought I would join up to bring whatever knowledge I have gleaned about vintage Gillette razors to those that are interested.

Just looking forward to cruising this site and meeting some new people.

    Welcome to Straight Razor Place.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Going Postal,

Hey, welcome to this site. I know a lot of us here use DE's when for any number of reasons we cannot get a str8 in.

Just be aware that too much time on this site will get you a new hobby and suck the life out of your desposable income. Start picking out your new Dovo Straight Razor, strop, brush, cream and honing stones right now! Oh yeah, once you aquire one or more aquisition disorders, and the frustration of learning, you may want to line up your shrink as well.

I don't know, do you really think I need another AD in my life?

What was the number for that shrink?

Nice collection. Believe me when I tell you, if you get the straight razor RAD you'll look back at the days of $ spent on the DEs with fond memories. The straights can break the bank if you ain't careful..... and it looks like you ain't.

I don't doubt you for a second, I have seen what decent vintage straights go for on the bay.

Man, I've only been here a couple of hours and the enabling has already begun in earnest!

    Good to see you again.

Hey Bong! Good to see you again too! I've come to try and convert all you straight shavers back to DEs!

Yeah, Derby has some serious QC issues and they had to go.

    Default Hi To All

    Hello, GoingPostal:

Ah, yes, welcome to SRP paradise.

Johann Strauss, the waltz king in the 19th century, said the waltz "made some sorrows vanish" and it "gave back the joys of life."

At SRP, we can replace the word "waltz" with "straight razor" and we're one jolly group.

    We're delighted you've joined us.

    Regards,

    Obie
