    Default Hello from Miami Beach

    Hello,

I've been DE shaving for about 8 weeks now. My razor rotation kept getting more and more aggressive with each week.
I ended up shaving with the Merkur 39c Slant, pretty much every day, and it became my favorite razor.
Lately, it started to feel like shaving with a fluffy kitten (no complaints there), so in my quest for a more aggressive yet comfortable shave, I decided to take the plunge into straight razor shaving.

I find the Japanese non folding razors to be beautiful objects (I'm also a big fan of classic Japanese cinema, so I've seen these in many films). I looked at Tosukes (so they say at the bay) and Iwasakis, but the maintenance factor intimidates me. Finally I bought a Feather non-folding DX from another member of Badger & Blade.

Had two shaves with it so far using the Pro-Super blades. Averaged two cuts per day, a little irritation on the first day, much less on the second, but nowhere close to the irritation I suffered during my first week of DE shaving.

Once I get more used to it and become less concerned with the idea of stropping and honing, I will probably navigate to a traditional non-folding.

I'll be posting with many questions/comments soon.

Very nice meeting all of you,
