Thread: Another New Guy

Hello everybody.

I'm Mike, and I have been lurking here for a while and figured I would finally start posting. I started wetshaving with a DE about a month ago. I read an article on artofmanliness.com about wetshaving and decided to try it out. Once I started seeing all of the videos and info on shaving with a straight I knew I had to try it.

I bought my first straight, a Geneva Cutlery spike, from LarryAndro on here and have 4 shaves with it right now.

Everything is going good, only a few small cuts/nicks so far. I only have a practice strop at the moment, but my birthday is next month and I will hopefully be getting a dovo best 6/8 straight/SRD 3" english bridle strop combo.

I use a Edwin Jagger best badger brush with usually TOBS Mr Taylor cream or Col. Conks bay rum soap.

Sounds like you made some good choices. You'll like the English Bridle Leather, I do..One of my favs...I got the long one...I use it, and their Premium I, which is like butter soft leather. I like to use it like a finishing strop..
