    Hi koolbreaze. Welcome to SRP!

Be sure to read this post from BeBerlin: http://straightrazorpalace.com/begin...zor-place.html

Read throught the links there, especially the beginner's guide and the FAQ.
Also, if you click the wiki button at the top, there is all kinds of useful information about everything having to do with straight razor shaving.

Be sure to read about good razors vs. bad razors before making a purchase. I'd highly recommend a new shave ready razor from one of the vendors here, or else a used shave ready razor from the classifieds.

Spend a couple of months learning the basics of shaving before you move on to honing or sharpening razors.

Be sure to post any questions you have... The best way to learn is to read the wiki and to get involved in the forums.

    Again, welcome!

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Welcome aboard. +1 HNSB.....You really don't need to worry about sharpening right away.
The first thing you want to concentrate on, is getting a shave ready razor, Dovo is wonderful, and I recommend SRD, They have the best prices and it will be honed my Lynn Abrams, our resident Honemeister. You'll also need a strop, brush, and some kind soap or cream. I suggest checking out the WIKI here, it's full of great info, and our classifieds. You can find some great bargains there. Let me know if you need any help.
BTW, with a shave ready razor from SRD, you won't need to hone it for some time. That will give you time to work on your technique and getting comfortable with using st8s.
I too have been sharpening knives for years and years, and have enough stones to fill a quarry, Razors are a different animal.
