Thread: I joined a year ago...

I joined SRP about a year ago, but have not gotten around to introducing myself.

A quick history: I started with a DE about 5 years ago using canned shaving foam. I had tried using a brush and soap without any success until last winter when I decided to search the internet for information about them and found a couple of forums on wetshaving. Initially I was on the DE side and just thought straight users were a little "off," but after a couple of months of looking I decided to dig my Grandfather's old straight and strop out of storage just to look at...

Next thing I know I was scouring antique stores for straights and I finally found one in good condition. I sent it to Sham to be honed and have not looked back.

I want to thank everyone here for the amazing amount of knowledge on this site.

Welcome to SRP. If you haven't already, check out Mantic59 on youtube. He has some excellent shaving videos on there. Our WIKI isn't too bad either. If you have any specific questions, just ask.

Better late than never Travis! Welcome to SRP. In concept straight shaving does sound a bit off level. Glad you took the plunge and that you are enjoying the adventure.
