Hello from South East Texas
I found this forum do to my frustrations with my new razor.. I was on YOUTUBE and saw a few straight razor place videos.. I am from South East Texas. I have been straight razor shaving for about 3 months with a Magic razor from Sally Beauty.. Fo an early fathers day present my lovely Bride bought my a Dove Ebon Wood with the prima silver steel blade, and a Mountain Strop.. The first shave was good and seems to be going down hill since which this has been only a two week period. Hopefully I will be able to get a much needed education, and hopefully one day be able to contribute...
Cheers... Justin

Sounds like you've got it pretty much figured out...watch out for those antique stores though. Before you know it, you'll have a dozen razors!

Welcome to SRP Justin. Glad to have you aboard.
+1 on the previous advice. Consult the SRP wiki. It will provide possible solutions to your str8 raor issues.
That being said, it sounds like you have a nice starter kit to enter the world of straight razor shaving. Might I ask where you're lovely Bride purchased the razor from? Was it professionally honed prior to purchase? How are you stropping your razor before shaving? Please let us know.
