    Default Greetings from NW Florida

    Greetings All,

I've been a wet shaver for the past six months or so, ever since I misplaced my Braun electric while on a business trip. I've been using a Merkur DE razor for a while now, and I'm amazed at the improvement over an electric or a disposable blade.

So now I'm looking to make the jump to a straight razor. Today the mail man delivered my Dovo 5/8" razor with bone scales and a strop from SRD, so my first straight razor shave is in my near future! Looking forward to it.

    Brian

    Brian,

Welcome to SRP...Glad to have you aboard.

+1 on hi_bud_gl's advice. Go slow, consult the SRP wiki and feel free to post any questions you may have in the designated forums.

I traveled much the same path as you. That is, I began wet shaving with a DE, then moved to str8 razors last December. It's been a blast! I hope it will be the same for you too.

    Take care--and continued smooth shaving.

Welcome to SRP from south FL. If you haven't seen it check out Lynn's suggestions for the first straight razor shave here and read my sig to avoid nicks and cuts.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
