Thanked: 0Hello from Groningen
Hi all,
I almost feel like i know some of the guys and the occasional woman, because I've been around for some while now. Only leeching information I'm afraid.. Well i thought the time was right to mingle and maybe even post some remarks in the very useful forum.
Like the title of this treads said i'm from Groningen a city in the Kingdom of the Netherlands of Netherlands or Holland. No i do not wear wooden shoes or have a diet that solely consists of cheese and do not have a house filed with tulips. And for the smart ones.. No i don't live on a dyke.
Been using a straightrazor now for about a year. i bought myself a dovo razor with a nice gold finish to the blade. It has a 4/8 blade and i finally get it sharp enough to pass the hanging hair test. Still going true second-hand markets to find more razors cause a new one is just to expensive for me. (student)
My uncle got me started with this hobby by getting me a razor for my eighteenth birthday(eight years ago). Used it once or twice and than gave it up because.. Well just lazy I guess. It wasn't sharp and I still had safety razors lying around. The knife was lost over the years but a year ago I thought it would be a cheap solution to safety razors. Now i get satisfaction from sharpening the blade let alone get a nice smooth shave!
And it was!
I would like to use this opportunity to thank every person that has posted the information on this forum needed for me to enjoy the joy that shaving has become for me.

Welcome Herman!
It sounds like you're well away and enjoying straight razor shaving, which is great! It really is the best way to shave IMO..!
Welcome again and I look forward to talking with you!

Hello there in Groningen, I heard she's still riding on pigs up there in the north.
No wooden shoes?? Strange that i thought that, in the countryside all still wore wooden shoes. and the mole bean (molleboon)??? weird people
But all in all still a welcome from the capital
