Thread: Greetings from Upstate South Carolina

Hi everybody on SRP-I am a 44 year old high-school English teacher (finished yesterday!) and father of the two boys in my avatar pic. As we all got into wet-shaving late last year, the two boys also registered at some point, and may have a few posts each: "Jillybooty" (I don't understand it either, but he's 16...) has been shaving with the Dovo Best Quality 5/8" I got him for Christmas, and stropping with Tony Miller 3" Latigo and Linen. And "DoubleEdgeFreak," my 12-year old, has been "Shaving" his peach fuzz with the Gillette SS and Ball-End Tech he inherited from his great-grandfather (we found out what they were on here!).

Anyway, I've been lurking daily since last fall, but wanted to wait to jump in until school let out, as I've been working on the utterly brutal National Board certification, and I didn't want to shave my beard until today, as sort of my official summer kickoff!

To explain the handle, I used the same screen name I use on my other "addiction": http://southeastflyfishingforum.com/. I was also the Scoutmaster for my sons' troop until recently, when I gave it up to focus on my long-suffering career. But I'm still an avid hiker and fly-fisherman, and live to escape to my beloved North Carolina mountains at every opportunity.

And by the way, this is hands-down the most well-laid out, user-friendly forum I've ever stumbled upon. I've already learned a great deal, and look forward to getting to know some of you.

Thanks for the kind words, men! I didn't know so many local guys were on this forum. I read about the SRP gathering in Asheville (my hometown). Not sure if I can make it. I may have to help my mother move. We'll see
