Jason, Congratulations on the first straight shave!
I also enjoy using the vintage DE blades when I can. I think I have several years supply of vintage blades! I was able to get some of the personna 74 also. That GEM is a nice razor. I have not tried using a SE yet.
If all goes well I should be up for my first straight shave this weekend! My work has kept me busy. I want to take time to do it right. I have a nice 5/8 W&B special shave ready I will use.
The vintage DE I have :
'48 super speed
'66 super speed
'75 super speed
'61 tech
'59 fatboy
'66 slim

Thanked: 6RKP: Thanks for the postback! I hope your shave goes really well this weekend. That's a nice collection of DE's you got there. And a nice straight. SE's are a bit different than DE's. I can't explain it. But make sure you use a good blade on those as they can be tricky and sometimes harsh.
My straight is a Landers, Frary & Clark 5/8. It's used and in surprisingly good shape. I wanted to go inexpensive as I didn't know if I'd like it, but I think I do. Had my first shave yesterday (you know that already) and it went pretty darn good. Not much blood!
Take care,
Jason
