    Default Hello

I've been interested in learning to shave with a straight razor for almost 6 months now. My girlfriend bought a kit for me last week for my birthday. She had good intentions and her heart was in the right place but it came with a Kreiger razor. I gave it a shot to no success and then found out after coming on this site that it was not shave ready and probably never will be.

I'm going to pick up a new shave-ready razor and maybe it will go a little better next time. I am looking forward to learning and getting the clean irritation free shave I have been looking for.

I have been looking at the Rupp Razor kit and through the classifieds for a razor. If anyone has any advice please shoot.

    Welcome to SRP.

I highly recommed the classifieds as most are shave ready and the prices are quite reasonable.

Hello and Welcome. I bought a nice strop off Ken at Rup Razor a while back.
I can't speak intelligentlly about the Gold Dollar razors. I've never owned one. Someone here may have some input on them..He does sell some beginner strops which I recommend because when your starting out, chances are you'll cut or nick the strop.
