Edwin Jagger is made by Muhle. Back in March, I switched to DE. When I did so, I picked up a Muhle R89. I believe the EJ version is the EJ89L. Both of these razors are very well regarded by the DE membership on a number of the forums for wet shaving.
I then picked up a few vintage Gillette SuperSpeeds, which were also very nice shavers. Ultimately, it's personal preference.
In the end, I started on straights in May thinking it would be a "weekend" means of shaving, but I haven't touched my DE since.

That is too bad. I recall reading somewhere recently that more people cut themselves with a DE than with a straight.
Just the same, this is a great way to start out shaving. Check out Badger and Blade too, they seem to have more people using DEs, where straight razor place (go figure) doesn't have as many DE users.

Agreed. As Ben said, with DE's and the blades, it seems to be personal preference. Some sites offer sample packs of different blades. I'm not sure about the UK though, someone may chime in. I've used Vintage Gillette DE's, and Parker. As far as blades, I get great shaves with Shark blades.

Thanked: 0This may seem like a realy daft question but from what I have read here blades seem to last 3-5 shaves, is that for each side of the blade, being De blades, or does this include changing sides?I would also like to know when one is meant to change side, every pass, and does hand stroping make a difference.
Sorry about all the questions.
