New member from Australia.
Hey everyone, my name is Cayne, im 23 years old and from Australia.
I have been lurking about the forums for a few months but have decided to become active.
I am interested in Straight Razors (obviously), Motorcycles, Knives, Tattoos, making things etc
I am fairly new to straight razor shaving, (With an actual straight razor anyway), I have used a Shavette razor for the past year or so.
I have always had a bit of an interest in Straight Razors since I was about 10 years old.
When my Great Grandfather died, some of his old Razors ended up in my family bathroom.
A while back I asked my Mum if the razors were still around somewhere and if I could have them to re-condition. So she posted me one that she could find; I am still in the process of trying to fix it up. Its a Cadman & Sons Bengal.
I shave with a Dovo Ebony.
Anyway, theres my life story haha, sorry about that.
Keen to learn new things and meet new people here.
Take it easy and talk to you soon.

Oh Lord!
I would guess you people are sick of that song by now.
You have the distinct privilege of living in the land of SRP characters, of which there are a few. If you need help, there is no need for you to leave your native country as it is well represented in this forum.
The best way to learn is to read old posts and create new ones by asking any question you might have. Even if it's been asked a hundred times before, we'll help you out again as if it's the first time.
Welcome!

Yeah that song haha. It does get a bit of a flogging.
Anyway, cheers for the welcome mate.

That is one of the BEST songs! especially when you use it on a 1000 Watts system to annoy your neighbors.

G'day Cayne & welcome aboard. I'm sure a bunch more aussies will chime in & say hi soon enough. Nice razors those Cadmans.
Have fun

Thanks chap.
Many Aussies in here?
Yeh, I like the Cadman & Sons, its still sharp enough to cut hair without being honed for at least... 30 or 40 years (just guessing) I actually have no idea.
A friend on mine is a bladesmith and gave me some oil that he uses for cleaning Samurai Swords, he instructed me to just polish with plain paper and this oil. Anyone ever done anything like that?

Mate welcome aboard. Good luck with your restoration and happy shaving. You wont regret it. It took me 6 months but i finally chucked out all the old multiple blade razors the other day. I now have two operational straights (one very sharp thanks to Oz (onimaru55) and my dads old safety razors.

Cheers for the Welcome Hendersr.
I threw my standard multi blade razors out ages ago. I used a Shavette with disposable razor blades for a while, but now shave with my straight only.
Far better shave, plus its fun and enjoyable, unlike the old Gillette I used to use. Plus no more toxic canned shaving cream.
