Talking Welcome! Oh wait that's not what I meant..

    Haha I meant, Hi!!!!!
New here I've been DE Wetshaving since I was 20 (didn't have much of a choice, those "Mach 9000s"(lol) whatever they are nowadays, would give me so much irritation, ingrown hairs, and worst of all.. razor burn! (Looked so gross!). Well after a good while (and of course I still DE with my trusty lovely Merkur), I bought a Shavette (Dovo) earlier this year and use it very very often. (I'm 23 now btw).
However, as I love "pretending" to Straight Shave with my Shavette, I really hope to get into the passion of real straight shaving. With a Shavette, all I do is put a new half DE blade and I'm all set. But I'm a hobbyist and passionist(<---totally made up that word!) so I would love to really learn the art of straight shaving as well as not have to worry so much about buying blades.
The main thing is, I ran out of DE blades the other day and the three stores I usually go to were all sold out. For two days I didn't get to shave (my mustache grows very quick!) so not having DE blades rendered both my Merkur and my Shavette both useless. I shouldn't have to and do not want to worry about that again!
Now that I wrote a huge book of a thread, I hope I am welcomed and hopefully yall (I'm from Texas, shushh) will say "hey!"when yall see me in a forum! As far as straight shaving starts with me, I have most utensils (I have to, I've been wetshaving lol) so I have my lovely badger brush, two creams, a soap, my styptic (which I hardly use ;3 ) um oh my pre-shave oil - yet I make and use my own oil most of the time and my after shave oil (which is essential because of my super super sensitive skin.
I will be purchasing a Filly strop and a barbering hone today. If anyone has a straight razor for cheap...and I'm talkin' Texas dirt cheap they want to sell, pretty much get rid of, please let me know! Thank you all for your wonderful time, sorry I wrote so much, and I hope to be a welcomed, very active member!
    -Angel E.

Welcome to the forum. +1 on the classifieds. It's probably the best source for an affordalbe razor. Also, poke around the different sections here, especially razors. You never know what you may come across.

P.S. I'd hold onto that Styptic Pencil. You may need it....

Welcome, +1 on classifieds over half my razors were purchased there and you cannot find a more reliable source for quality razors at a resonable price. Anyway make sure you let us know what you end up getting and how the first shave goes.

Thanks a lot! I'll be sure to post how it goes, I'm sure I will need a few weeks of getting used to stroping but I know it will pay off in the end.
