    Default From New Mexico

    Hey everyone,

I'm from Albuquerque, NM. I learned how to shave with straight razors, so I don't really know anything else. Right now I am using a DOVO razor and a 7 day set of Kobar razors. I strop with horsehide, and am not quite sure what else to say.

Well, in that case, let me say welcome to SRP. Good to have you here, and don't worry... you'll find plenty of things to say soon enough. Just try looking over the awesome resorations/customs here and not saying something

    Welcome again!

Well, I do try to hone my own, but really started feeling bad about myself after visiting here and reading for the last few weeks. I obviously know nothing. :-) I have an Arkansas Soft and a ceramic no name. Honestly, I have been sharpening knives since I was younger, but not razors. I have honed my Dovo before, but i only ever do a few drags across the ceramic every few months and it still shaves fine. I now want to get a few new hones, at least to know what I'm using. I have heard about the Norton 4k/8k but the company seems to have a different listing for them on their website. I would also like to get a fancy 12+k, but nothing like the Eschers (sp?). Too expensive and I'm not too picky. I also wouldn't mind finding out a bit more information about the razors I've collected over the years. I don't think they are worth anything, but I like that stuff. Maybe I'll post some pictures for everyone to see. Anyways, thanks for welcoming me.
